Field trip with the school
Tuesday, October 13, 2009
I went with Nathaniel's school to Philip Foster Farm on Wednesday last week and here are some of the photos I took while we were there. This place is registered in National Historic Site and is situated on Barlow Road in Eagle Creek, Oregon.
Just like Nathaniel said, "It's like in Laura's life"--with reference to the Little House on the Prairie's Laura Ingalls ;)
The girls who helped with the kids in the 1800's clothings.
Pulling the hay up in the barn and the kids tried riding on it like a horse.
This is how you grind corns to become cornmeal.
The five pictures below were from the room of Philip Foster's own home:
Old-fashioned doughnuts, just like the one I've made before which was I posted here. I think this one had bits of apples in it. Very delicious!
A totally wonderful experience!

What a wonderful field trip!! I love all the pictures and the story too!! You did such an awesome job posting it, Za!! :-)
I believe Adam had a trip very similar like this one last year. The kids went home with homemade candles. I didn't go for that trip, since I chaperoned already for the zoo field trip. I can't wait for Adam's next school trip. Where will it be? Hmmmmm ....
Enjoy the Fall season guys!!!

That was my mom, Gerri Morse, in the kitchen, and my dad, Sam Morse in the blacksmith shop.
