bits of pieces from Thanksgiving break

Sunday, December 07, 2008

Just some photos and a quick note from our Thanksgiving break a week ago.

I was not too busy, but somehow I didn't get a chance to sit down in front of the computer for a long time anymore. There's always something to do.

For our Thanksgiving break, we went to Seaside, a beach town about an hour from our home. We stayed for three days and it was definitely a relaxing and mellow vacation. We stayed in a condotel (condo-hotel) type of accomodation, so we had a kitchen in our studio room. When we got there it was drizzling, so we stayed in the hotel even though it was Thanksgiving day. I made risoles, chocolate-filled breads and brought some ramen noodles :). Nathaniel and hubby played in the pool while I did a little workout in the gym. Friday was a nice day, because even though it was cloudy, it didn't rain at all and it wasn't as cold as I expected. We went to this beach area near Ecola State Park in Cannon Beach, and saw this sight. Lots of pelicans and seagulls! It looked like hundreds of birds were there.

Just before lunch, we went to walk in Gearhart beach. And then we had lunch at Pacific Way Bakery and Cafe. Last but not least we stopped by at an outlet store in Seaside to kill time. At night time, there was a small holiday parade by the main road of Seaside. We didn't have to go out in the cold because our room had a balcony. What a perfect timing!

I was glad to go to the beach this year. Instead of doing all crazy cooking for Thanksgiving, we had a sweetest three-day getaway!
